HH Hillary was unable to do any of the normal juried art shows for the past 6 months. In late September of last year she discovered she has breast cancer. As of May, 2007 Hillary has undergone surgery, chemotherapy and now, radiation therapy.
While most of Hillary's energy has been devoted to fighting the cancer, she has had time for several shows. Hillary showed her work at Wolfe Gallery in Deland, Florida from November through this past March and will be showing there again beginning this Summer. She also continues to show her work at the Lively Arts Center in Daytona Beach. On May 6, the Daytona Art League will begin featuring Hillary's work as well.
Hillary is eager to finish her treatments and get back to her art. This July Hillary will be attending an artist's workshop on Monhegan Island, famous art colony in Maine, thanks to a cultural affairs grant she received from Volusia County, Florida. She also plans to return to juried art shows this Fall. She will be applying for the Winter Park Fall Art Festival and the Space Coast Fall Art Festival, among others. Hillary also plans on expanding her repretorie to include plein air and has already begun developing a separate body of abstract work.
We will update with a show schedule as Hillary returns to more health.
